ILHWA KIM | SENSORY PORTRAIT: LONDON

2018年4月3日 - 4月17日

South Korean’s work blends sculpture with painting by marrying intricate technique with immersive landscapes. Each piece is created through the meticulous process of hand dyeing, cutting and rolling of mulberry paper into unique ‘seeds’. These seeds are then used in their hundreds and thousands to create intricate patterns and forms that boast innumerable interpretations on what is very much a three dimensional canvas.

Few could describe Sensory Portrait better than HOFA Gallery’s Simonida Pavicevic, “Ilhwa Kim creates beauty and intrigue in each individual piece of work, allowing the viewer to indulge in a sensory delight; floating on a whirlpool of colour, light and contrasts.
