Ryosuke Misawa

I believe that by bringing new rules form new answers derived from the past, photographed or drawn by others, we can update these fixed concepts, and I see this as my mission.

Specifically, I use a unique technique called “media paradox,” which is based on digital media such as video and photography and crosses over with analog media, like painting. I aim to create works that will serve as a foundation for the viewer, as well as myself as the creator, to recognise the gap between the world and the viewer.

Ryosuke Misawa's work investigates transcendental techniques to globally connect and communicate with individuals

"To bind the audience into perceiving art as communication instrument," the artist states as the core values and origins of his work. Alongside the relams of illusionMisawa thoroughly focuses on the gravitational pull that people produce and the involvement of others that differs from the 'fluxes' of the past.

Another core element of his practice is the unique interaction and relationship between the 'Idol' figure and their audience derived from contemporary entertainment and social media culture. Ryosuke links his work to the distinctive process of creating the 'Idol', envisioning this as a recurent theme throughout history.
