Zheng Lu

Zheng Lu (born 1978 in Inner Mongolia, China) lives and works in Beijing. He studied at the Lu Xun Fine Art Academy from 1998 to 2003, followed by a period at the prestigious Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing from 2004 to 2007. While still a student, Zheng was awarded the highly coveted LVMH Prize, which included a three-month training program at The École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts (ENSBA) in Paris.

Through a continuous and multifaceted practice, Zheng Lu has elaborated and perfected his unique artistic logic and language system. His works encompass a large variety of subjects, materials, and concepts, including reflections on material, writing, the notion of water, time, and space. These ideas, elaborated through a complex and coherent conceptual framework, make his artistic language and practice distinctive. His work casts light on the possibility of different existential conditions while addressing issues related to the relationship between nature, individual character, and the self.

Distinguished by his gravity-defying sculptural compositions, Zheng Lu is internationally recognized, collected, and exhibited in significant galleries and museums such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, Taiwan; Parkview Museum, Beijing; and Long Museum, Shanghai, China.

The artist has achieved important collaborations with the world luxury brand RIMOWA and designed the 'Jane Alexander Global Wildlife Ambassador Award,' which was presented to His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco.
