This show wishes to explore this question in relation to the arts and crafts. Whilst the art world is perpetually in search of novelty and originality, artists rely on craft and processes that are drawn from the learnings of repetition. Thus creating new worlds and possibilities by bringing together two paradoxical ingredients: innovation and habit.
The series of artwork is a tribute to the magic that is born out of the intersection between banality and fantasy. My characters navigate between the ordinary and extraordinary: their occupations and environments are both quotidian and surreal. As in our imagination and practice.
