  • Drawing on Chinese traditional philosophy, his new series of paintings reflects the cosmos as a living, dynamic whole shaped by the interplay of complementary forces such as yin and yang, presence and absence. Through energetic brushwork and palette knife textures, Li Jie’s works portray faceless human figures in moments of togetherness, their forms shifting between abstraction and figuration depending on the viewer’s perspective. Suspended in a dreamlike space, these figures highlight the tension between materiality and ephemerality, individuality and collectivity, and reality and imagination.
