    When Tomorrow Comes

    22 AUG 2024 | 8:00 pm - 00:00 am | Bodrum Temple

Our Encounters series continues with 'When Tomorrow Comes', an interactive installation by the postdigital art group Random International. The installation involves a custom tracking system and a flocking algorithm to create interactive, evolving digital organisms called “Motherflocks”.

These organisms exhibit distinct traits and invite the viewers to explore the human tendency to ascribe character and narrative to simple moving forms. Collectors can choose from 3 sets of 150 limited signed edition prints with a unique animation included as part of the collection.

‘When Tomorrow Comes’ opens on the 22nd of August at 8pm and will be open to the public until the 25th of August, daily from 5pm to 12am.

    About the collection

Post digital art group Random International experiments with the human, emotional response to the encounter with artificial intelligence in this new, multifaceted body of work.

The interactive, immersive installation ‘When Tomorrow Comes’ simulates a seemingly intelligent, atomized organism, taking over The Ritual Space as part of Scorpios Encounters.

The collection ‘Studies of Tomorrow’ captures moments from the intelligence’s existence; each NFT records a unique sequence of its flight as short looped video, which can be accompanied by one of three hand-signed, limited edition prints representing the flock overall.

Exploring different properties of the intelligence and how it can be viewed by the human eye, the collection spans three categories: ‘Mass’, ‘Spectrum’ and ‘Dimension’.

Building on the success of 2023's inaugural edition launched with Turkish AI artist and director Refik Anadol, his special collaboration with the Yawanawa Indigenous communities of Brazil's Amazon, was regarded as a profound exploration of the relationship between human consciousness and nature. Over half a million people attended last year's programme, generating $3 million in artwork sales, with Refik Anadol's Yawanawa heritage project alone selling out in hours and raising $1.5 million for the preservation campaign.
