Romina Ressia
Born in 1981 in a small town near Buenos Aires, Argentina, Romina Ressia dedicated her life to photography in her late twenties, after graduating in Economics. She honed her craft studying Photography, Fashion Photography, Art Direction, and Scenery, including at the prestigious Teatro Colon Institute. Her artistic influences are deeply rooted in Classic Paintings.
Romina began her career in fashion photography but has since transitioned to Fine Arts, exploring mixed media beyond traditional photography. She quickly gained international recognition, being named "Photographer of the Year" by the International Color Awards in 2017 and selected as one of the "17 young women who are on their way to becoming influential figures of the world" by The Women's Forum for the Economy and Society in 2016.
Known for her pictorial style, Romina's work is characterized by anachronisms and the use of the absurd and irony to address contemporary issues. A key aspect of her art is the desire to infuse a fresh perspective into classical styles. Her works are held in the collections of prominent institutions, including the Columbus Museum of Art (USA), the Salo Art Museum (Finland), and the 21 C Museum (USA).
