    Zhuang Hong Yi

Zhuang Hong Yi is world renowned for his immersive works which greet viewers with a kinetic kaleidoscope of colours—a symphony of vibrant hues that dance across the canvas with an energy that is both ancient and modern, celebrating the harmonious coalescence of past and present.

Eternal Bloom unveils a new chapter in Zhuang Hong Yi’s celebrated fusion of cultural identity, material transformation, and emotional resonance. Inspired by his travels between Beijing and the Netherlands - where he was captivated by the ever-shifting colors of the Dutch tulip fields - Zhuang transforms nature’s ephemeral beauty into sculptural canvases that pulse with life and movement.

Rooted in Chinese aesthetics and philosophies, and enriched by European influences, Zhuang’s works inhabit a unique space where East meets West, and tradition meets innovation. As he reflects, “It is the cycle of nature that forms the ever-present inspiration that I seek to convey in Kaleidoscope - the sense of movement and fluidity that breathes life into each piece.” This ethos shines through in every detail, as his signature flowerbed compositions shift with light and perspective, offering a new visual experience with every glance - much like the fleeting wonder of a kaleidoscope.

Eternal Bloom showcases an artist in constant dialogue with the natural world and his own cultural hybridity. The exhibition is a celebration of transformation, memory, and the quiet power of beauty that endures.

  • Traditional Chinese techniques intertwine with contemporary sensibilities, creating a visual tapestry that is as rich in history as it is in innovation. Each piece is a testament to the artist's mastery of his craft, as well as his boundless imagination—a fusion of rice paper folding, ink painting, and calligraphy with acrylics, mixed media and digital elements.

Interactive installations invite the viewer to engage, move and actively become a participant of the work, while the narratives behind each piece serve as insight into the artist's creative process and cultural heritage. Zhuang therefore heightens the notion that tradition and innovation are not opposing forces, but rather complementary elements that know no boundaries and transcend all limitations.

  • "Pink Flower: The digitalisation of flowers into the abstraction of virtuality is there to create a space of new possibilities, new boundaries, and new conceptions of what art can be.

Pink Flower symbolises the exploration and expansion of my own creativity. The floral landscape expanding into different structures and dimensions makes for openness and directness of colour spreading across platforms.

Pink Flower symbolises my aspiration to inspire and uplift."

"Escapism has been a movement for many centuries and it is still a relevant phenomenon for the present time. Art is connecting people all around the world as a kind of universal language and I am beyond honoured to be part of the art world and art society. It is therefore with great pleasure and gratitude that, even during times like these, I am able to present my show Essence.”
